I cant believe there are still over 6 weeks until school starts again! With this change in school schedules here it is making for a long summer which the kids are loving but for a mother who works from home they are giving me run for my money. Usually my youngest, who is 6, is content to play by himself for hours at a time but in the last 2 weeks he his needier than I have ever seen him. I cant work for 10 minutes without him wanting me to watch something cool or come outside anfd look at some kind of bug. I wish that I didnt have to work and could enjoy more of this time with him and helping him to discover more of the nature around us that he finds so fascinating but with 2 teenage girls needing cool school clothes I just cant afford a break right now. I took them all on vacation over the 4th for 8 days and you would think that would have held him over for sometime but it seems to have riled him up even more. I keep telling myself that I am not the only person dealing with this right now and in the future there will be days that I will wish he was doing exactly what he is doing now. So I will relish these times, although be it with gritted teeth some days, because they wont last forever.
June 14
Since I have been laying in bed for the last 3 and a half days with strep throat and the antibiotics are starting to kick I guess in the morning I will have to get up a rejoin everyone else in the real world. I am so thankful my sister is staying with us right now because I didnt even have to get up and worry about feeding kids or animals and I know my house has been kept in a somewhat neat manner. My husband is also coming back tomorrow from working in Orlando this week and I am sure he doesnt want to see me in the terribly disheveled state I am in. We are having a large birthday bash at my house this weekend for my husbands 39th and our friends 30th so I have quite alot of work and preparation to get done. Hopefully the weather will hold up so that we can stay outside aroung the pool and out of my house.
